Numbered routes, e.g. 16/16L
Routes labeled as 'Local' provide service in higher density/urban areas. Due to urban growth, shifting boundaries, or District minimum ridership standards, these routes may also cross through areas of lower density. Some may even cross the entire metro area (Crosstown Routes). Local routes stop an average of every 600' feet or no more than 1 or 2 blocks apart. Limited routes only make specific selected stops, usually high-volume transfer points or major traffic intersections. This allows for faster running times and for passengers to reach their destination quicker than riding the Local route.

Buses follow the Sunday/Holiday schedule on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
