Girder set for Lincoln Ave Bridge closes Lincoln Ave 8/3 & 8/4

As part of RTD’s 2004 voter-approved FasTracks plan to extend rapid transit across the Denver metro region, construction is in full swing along the Southeast Rail Extension project.

On Thursday, Aug. 3, and Friday, Aug. 4, motorists can expect an overnight closure of Lincoln Avenue and intermittent flagging operations on Trainstation Circle as crews install concrete girders for the future light rail bridge across Lincoln Avenue (west of I-25).

While crews set bridge girders, both directions of Lincoln Avenue will close between Park Meadows Drive and the southbound I-25 off-ramp to Lincoln Avenue. Southbound I-25 on-ramps from westbound and eastbound Lincoln Avenue will be closed.

The southbound I-25 off-ramp to Lincoln Avenue will be open (left turns only permitted). The northbound I-25 off-ramp will be open (right turns only permitted) and the westbound Lincoln Avenue on-ramp to northbound I-25 will also be open (refer to detour map).

Flaggers will escort pedestrians through the work zone.

On Saturday, Aug. 5, a section of Trainstation Circle (by AMLI RidgeGate) will be closed overnight. Business and residential access will be maintained. Please follow posted signs for the detour.

This work is weather dependent and subject to change. Future overnight closures will be required as bridge work progresses.

The anticipated schedule is as follows:
  • Lincoln Avenue will be closed overnight starting at 9 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 3, until 5 a.m., Friday, Aug. 4. Intermittent flagging operations on Trainstation Circle.
  • Lincoln Avenue will close again at 9 p.m., Friday, Aug. 4, until 5 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 5. Intermittent flagging operations on Trainstation Circle.
  • A section of Trainstation Circle (by AMLI RidgeGate) will be closed starting at 9 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 5, until 5 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 6. Business and residential access will be maintained.
