Photos: Work wraps up on B Line; Grand opening Monday

Work is wrapping up on the new B Line that will start providing cummuter rail service from the historic center of Westminster to Union Station in downtown Denver on Monday, July 25.

The Westminster Station, which is just west of West 71st Avenue and Federal Boulevard, is ready. Ticket vending machines have been installed. Signs are up. The windscreens on the train station platform are finished, complete with their fabulous artwork by Dan Gottsegen.

The final station "punch list" and clean up took place during the days prior to the grand opening ceremony scheduled at 10 a.m. July 25.

Crews from the city of Westminster were feverishly working to wrap up final parking garage and plaza work at the station in preparation for the grand opening events.

Free rides on the B Line will be available Monday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. We have station parties planned Saturday, July 30. Follow this link to find all of the details.

The B Line to Westminster brings new, reliable and quick commuter rail service between Westminster and downtown. The 6 miles of commuter rail will transport riders in 11 minutes to the Union Station Transit Center where they can connect to the C, E, and W light rail lines, the new University of Colorado A Line to Denver International Airport, as well as Local and Regional buses, and the FreeMallRide and FreeMetroRide downtown shuttles.
