Several downtown events affecting Free MallRide, D, H & L Lines, and Rockies game service

This weekend of Oct 6 & 7th, 2018 - the 16th Street FREE MallRide service will be temporarily detoured this weekend for the annual Denver Zombie Crawl event. On Sunday, Rockies fans will have many bus and rail options to get to Coors Field, and the Allstate Hot Chocolate 15K/5K run will affect light rail service and cause detours on several bus routes.

From 5 a.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. Sunday, to accommodate the Denver Zombie Crawl, the 16th Street Mall will be closed to all traffic, and alternate service will be available on 15th and 17th streets. Because the alternate mall shuttle service will be running on streets with general traffic, FREE MetroRide buses will be used in place of regular shuttles to help with passenger safety and rider capacity. Passengers who normally travel the 16th Street Mall will be able to catch the FREE MetroRide buses at bus stops on 15th (toward Union Station) and 17th (toward Civic Center Station) streets. Signage will be placed on 15th, 16th and 17th streets to help direct people to the temporary shuttle stops. Riders are encouraged to plan accordingly and allow extra time for their trips.

The Hot Chocolate run will affect service on the D, H and L lines starting at 4 a.m. Sunday for about seven and a half hours. During that time, the D and H lines will stop at Convention Center Station, and the L Line will not run. All bus routes in downtown Denver will have a minor detour around this event. Information about these disruptions can be found on the RTD Rider Alert page.

For the Sunday Rockies game against the Milwaukee Brewers, RTD will follow its regular Rockies season service plan for Sundays. Special service has been added to accommodate passengers for the LD and 120S routes. Three-car light rail trains will be operating, and additional buses will be added to Flatiron Flyer routes to accommodate an increase in capacity. RTD’s operations team will monitor performance in real time and add additional resources as needed. For more information about service on the LD and 120S routes, visit the RTD Rockies service page.
