A commuter rail update from RTD
Posted on 03.20.19
We write to let you know of plans to operate an out-of-service train on the University of Colorado A Line early tomorrow and Friday, between midnight and 4 a.m. both days. Doing so enables further testing of the positive train control (PTC) system along this commuter rail line. During this work, operators could sound their train horns when approaching railroad crossings, as required by federal regulations.
RTD is always mindful of the effect that this work has on the public, and we aim to limit it to only what is necessary. As always, safety is a guiding priority during testing, and people should exercise caution as they move and drive through the area.
As we have additional updates to share, we will continue to provide them directly to you, as well as on our website and social media channels.
