Tuesday through Thursday (May 28 through May 30) rock blasting activities will result in a full closure of CO119 from MP 39-40, between the hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Motorists entering the canyon from Nederland will be stopped at 9:45 a.m. In addition to the existing timed traffic signals near MP 39, there will be new timed traffic signals running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, near MP 32 and near MP 38. The new signals will be installed on Wednesday, May 29 and in use by Thursday morning. The new signal near MP 32 will be in place for 3 weeks and the new signal near MP 38 will be in place for 4 months.
Motorist will be guided around the single lane closures with traffic control flaggers. A single lane closure will remain in place near MP 39, 24-hrs a day, 7 days a week, to preserve the work zone area. Traffic will be managed by a timed traffic signal. Embankment installation will be done Tuesday through Thursday from MP 36-39. Asphalt paving, and pothole repairs continue, impacting MP 26-38, and culvert installation will impact MP 36-37.
From Nederland PnR: Left-Hwy 119, Cont.-Caribou Rd, Cont.-Hwy 72, Right-Hwy 7, Right-Broadway (In Lyons), Right-US-36 E, Right-Broadway (Boulder), Left-Walnut, to regular route.
Westbound: From Downtown Boulder Station: Right-Canyon, Right-Broadway, Left-Hwy 36 W, Left-Hwy 36 W, Left-Hwy 7, Left-Hwy 72, Right-Into Nederland PnR.
